8:30 - start on trail at Woody Gap
4:00 - camp at Hawk Mountain Shelter (12.6miles)
Sunday, April 21
7:00 - start on trail
12:00 - arrive at Springer Mountain (8.7 miles)
1:00 - stop for food on return trip (bring money)
3:00 - estimated return to church
Crew 2 (20.9 miles)
Saturday, April 20
6 am - depart from church
7:30 - stop for fast food breakfast- bring money
9:00 - start on trail at Springer Mountain
4:00 - camp at Justus Creek or Blackwell Creek (14.2miles)
Sunday, April 21
7:00 am - start on trail
11:00 - arrive at Woody Gap (6.4 miles)
12:00 - stop for food on return trip
2:00 - estimated return to church
Pack warm clothes since temperatures can be 10-15 degrees
cooler than Athens.
Crews will swap vehicles at the breakfast Saturday morning so that each crew is hiking toward their own vehicles on Sunday. All gear is to be placed into vehicles of the opposite crew at the church Saturday morning. Keys will be passed back to their owners when we pass on trail (Drivers should keep a spare key in their own pack, just in case).
